Mission
To reduce and eliminate disease, disability and death due to vaccine preventable diseases in the District of Columbia.
Program Description
The Immunization Program was established to prevent and control vaccine preventable diseases among District residents. The Immunization Program provides free immunization services to uninsured and underinsured District of Columbia residents. The Immunization Program works with other agencies, such as Medicaid, the Community Health Centers (CHC), and the Early Period Screening Detection and Treatment (EPSDT) Program, that deliver immunization services. We aim to keep children healthy and prevent families from acquiring vaccine-preventable diseases.
Goal
To improve and maintain high immunization levels in children, adolescents and high-risk adults, with particular emphasis on children less than two years of age. |
